During the Belgian Beer Weekend that took place in early September, Edward Martin, great-grandson of the founder of our John Martin family group, was appointed “Chevalier de Droit” of the guild “Jeune Chevalerie du Fourquet des Brasseurs”, just nine months after his brother had received the title. “Chevaliers de Droit” are people who, by virtue of their profession, birth or alliance are closely linked to the world of brewing; they must also hold a managerial position. To be a “Jeune Chevalier de Droit”, one must be less than 40 years old. The awarding of this honour is also the perfect occasion to announce that he will soon be heading the Distillery department of our group. You deserve it, Edward, well done!
